  1. strange or unusual: They’re very odd people.
  2. happening or appearing occasionally; not happening often SYNONYM occasional: He makes the odd mistake—nothing too serious.
  3. available, spare: Could I see you when you’ve got an odd moment?
  4. approximately or a little more than the number mentioned: How old is she—seventy odd?

According to Oxford Learner’s Dictionary, the word ‘odd’ has multiple definitions. I’ve taken the liberty to lift off several that apply. Primarily, the last on the list is what inspires this site handle. Due to his work nature, Wilson the husband applies for a slot of 10 days leave annually, for the following year. Apart from this 10-day slot, ad-hoc leave is much harder to come by and thus not something we can depend on. Including his day offs before and after the slot leave, we typically have a total of 10-odd days per year to fulfill our wanderlust, hence the site moniker.

“traipsing to see the world, our way”

Ten-odd Days comprises the husband who has a finicky palate; and the wife who has a propensity to over-plan. Representative of an increasingly popular way of independent travelling, we travel on a budget but not quite on a shoestring one; we are not ready to splurge on hotels but not quite brave enough to wing it without confirmed accommodation either. Quite simply put, we travel in semi-style. Slowly. If there is anything distinctive about our travelling style, it’s how we like to take things slow.

This site is set up to chart our travels, mostly as a precautionary measure against our faulty memories.
